Our Beliefs
-
We believe in One God who exists eternally in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
-
We believe Jesus Christ alone is Savior and Lord. He is not one of many ways to God, nor simply a cultural expression of God, but unique Son of God who makes God known to us and who alone can provide for our forgiveness and salvation. The assurance of these truths is given to us in the historical event of Christ's sacrificial death and bodily resurrection.
-
We believe in the Holy Sprit, the third Person of the Triune God. His work in our lives makes us aware of our need for God, calls us to humble repentance and so renews our hearts as to reproduce the likeness of Christ in us. He provides each person who becomes a child of God with gifts by which we can serve God, advance His Kingdom and strengthen His people.
-
We believe the Bible to be the inspired and infallible Word of God, true in all that it intends to teach. The Bible, while given to us through human instrumentation and within human culture, so so overseen by God that what is given in it can finally be said to be a divine product and, fully trustworthy.
-
We believe a person becomes a child of God by the grace of God through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. No one is excluded, no matter how great they believe their sin to be. Yet it is only to those who turn to Christ in genuine faith that forgiveness is promised.
-
We believe in the Church, which consist of all true believes in Christ. The Church finds its visible, yet imperfect, expression in local congregations where the Word is preached in its purity and the sacraments administered in their integrity; where scriptural discipline is practiced and loving fellowship is maintained. For her perfecting, she awaits the return of her Lord.
-
We believe the Great Commission to be central to the purpose for which God has called every Christian and church. By His authority, we are to proclaim His gospel throughout the world making disciples of “all nations”. When such a task is ignored or dismissed, we fail to fulfill the purpose for which God has redeemed us and we diminish the spiritual blessing and work of God in our lives.
-
We believe in the visible, bodily return of Jesus Christ to the earth. At this time He will judge the living and the dead; history will be brought to a close; the fullness of God's Kingdom, according to His eternal plan, will be experienced by all who belong to Him.
